                               ORDINANCE NO. 10601
                
                
                 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING BALDWIN
                 STREET LOCATED NORTHEAST FROM RIVERFRONT
                 PARKWAY, NORTHEAST OF DOUGLAS STREET, MORE
                 PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, SUBJECT TO
                 CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
                
                
                                                    
                
                
       	    	 SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
       CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
       and abandoned Baldwin Street located northeast from Riverfront
       Parkway, northeast of Douglas Street, more particularly described 

       herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made a part
       hereof by reference:
            Baldwin Street, a 60 foot wide unopened right-of-way
            beginning on the northwest line of Riverfront Parkway
            981.9 feet southeast, then northeast, of the
            intersection of the northeast line of Riverfront Parkway
            with the southeast line of Douglas Street, and extending
            northeast between parallel lines to the Tennessee River,
            the northwest line of said street being some 392 feet,
            and the southeast line being some 388 feet.  Said street
            separates part of lot 34, Burris Addition, as shown by
            plat of record in deed book Q, volume 2, page 624, ROHC,
            and an unplatted tract from another unplatted tract. 
            Tax Map No. 136P-A-3 and 4.
           
       	    	 SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this closure
       and abandonment is made subject to the following conditions:
            1.	 The City of Chattanooga has a storm sewer located
                 within the right-of-way and reserves an easement
                 for the purpose of maintaining said storm sewer.
           
            2.	 All existing easements are retained.

       	    	 SECTION 3.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance
       shall be effective two (2) weeks from and after its passage as
       provided by law.
